  • CASA ROMÁNTICA AGAETE

    A beautifully located restaurant with great service, food and wine. Surrounded by vineyards and gardens, they serve the freshest local food and wines.

  • MAXIMILIAN’S

    An Italian run hidden gem. Be seated right on the ocean side by the kind Vladimir Alonso and enjoy great wines. The food might be classic Italian, but they have a wide selection of wine, including some amazing Ribera del Duero.

  • LAS RIAS BAJAS

    Possibly the best seafood restaurant on the island. Especially recommended are the baked sea bass ‘Al Horno’ and the freshly imported North Sea sole.

    On a long winding country road you’ll find this charming restaurant, where you can have a delicious 10 course lunch, complemented with a local wine straight from the valley it’s located in.

  • LA AQUARELA

    Hidden away in an apartment complex is Michelin starred treasure La Aquarela. In its contemporary dining room with great views over a swimming pool you’ll find an eclectic mix of international dishes with Canarian twists. Executive chef Germán Ortega was born and raised in Gran Canaria but travelled the world for culinary inspiration. Innovative dishes, fantastic wine and great personal service make this a must-visit.

    Simple but delicious cuisine served by the artistic and hospitable owner. Pieces of art decorate the simple but cosy restaurant, that boasts beautiful views over the hillside village it is located in.

    In the middle of the mountains you’ll find this charming modern restaurant and bakery. They serve lovely local produce such as goat cheese, almonds, eggplant and honey along with their freshly baked bread.

    High quality ingredients, great ocean views and a tasty menu for both lunch and dinner make this a must-visit. Their starters are great for a tapas experience as well, with excellent Iberico ham and tuna.

What to do


  • SALOBRE GOLF RESORT

    For lovers of golf, this is a must. A real oasis, with lush greens situated in the arid desert. Two different courses and a varied landscape, mean that everyone from beginners to wintered pros will find an experience to their liking. pools and a great restaurant completes the pure luxury experience.

  • ROQUE NUBLO

    A 64 meter high volcanic rock located in a large natural park in the middle of an island. At 1800 meters above sea level, it almost freezes here. An interesting experience, with great views stretching all the way to Tenerife, which is visible on the horizon.

  • MARKET VEGA DE SAN MATÉO

    An amazing farmers market with both food and artisanal products. It is located in the middle of the island in a wonderful little town. Much more green and luscious then the rest of Gran Canaria, this area is a must visit.

  • DUNAS DE MASPLOMAS

    A natural park with sandy dunes reminiscent of a desert. You can hike and take a cab back to the city, or keep walking if you’re feeling sportive. There is lots of local fauna as well, which makes it a great spot for bird watching.

    Whether you like sailing or not, this is a wonderful spot to walk around or watch boats while enjoying a lovely local wine.
